Art and fishing both require an extreme amount preparation, focus, patience, and attention to detail. Along with these, luck is a contributing factor, however, the outcome is mostly determined by ones understanding of the medium. Art and fishing are each a process; both of which require particular steps to be followed with a reward as the end result… sometimes.
Fishing is an artform in itself. With so many different techniques and styles there is always ways to innovate, improve and develop your own particular style.
For me, the art comes from fishing. The ocean is my muse and while on the water, I have seen some of the most beautiful scenes unfold. It inspires me to create and I enjoy learning more about it and its beautiful creatures every time I run offshore. When I go back to my studio and pick up a brush I am transported back to that moment.
